Fourth of July in Orlando

Got any plans for July 4th this year? There’s lots going on – but where do you most wanna go and get your stars and stripes on? We figured we’d put together a handy blog that highlights just some of the fun, amazing and cool events going down on the Fourth of July in Orlando!

Kicking off our list of what’s going down on the fourth of July in Orlando is the Walt Disney World July Fourth Celebrations! Nothing says magic quite like the Mouse does and they’re doing it up in style. Special events this year include “Celebrate America: A Fourth of July Concert In The Sky” which you can find going down at 9pm. But the July 4th fun doesn’t stop there – it’s barely beginning! They also have a Voices of Liberty a cappella group performing at special times and a unique addition to Epcot’s “IllumiNations” exhibit. Fun for the whole family!

Continuing our list of what’s going down on the Fourth of July in Orlando is the Watermelon 5K over in Winter Park. Just what is a Watermelon 5k? Exactly what it sounds like! You get to run a 5k marathon  – which begins at 7am – then enter a watermelon-eating contest at 8am!  There’s also a free kids’ run that kicks off at 8:15am and they promise that the watermelons will be ice cold!

Over at Lake Eola, here in Orlando, you’ll find more Fourth of July shenanigans with their Fireworks At The Fountain. Here you’ll find all manner of games along with live entertainment and very tasty food. Come the evening you can “ooh” and “aah” at the amazing half-hour fireworks show and best of all, admission is free! The fun begins at 4pm.

Rounding out our list of things to do on the Fourth of July in Orlando is the Daytona Coke Zero 400. NASCAR’s best will be out in style at the Daytona International Speedway showing us why racing at night is so much better than racing during the day. It’s capped off with a spectacular fireworks event. Chances are you’ll love it!

Those are just a few of the events taking place on the Fourth of July here in Orlando. Wherever you go, stay safe and drink responsibly. Happy Fourth!!!!
